Worst McDonald’s experience. ever.
Hey guys! Sorry it’s been a week since I blogged– I’m now back to working 5 days a week, so I’ve been tired, but I’ll try to keep up with it more! I’ll also be replying to comments tomorrow! Anyway, I just couldn’t keep this story to myself, and grossed everyone out with it today that I could, so if you don’t have a weak stomach, read on…
After my piano lesson today (which went very well, by the way), I had to head straight to work. I was quite thirsty, and wasn’t really in the mood for yet another juice box that I could consume in two large gulps (I work at an elementary school), so I decided to stop at McDonald’s for a large Coke (they’re only $1 :) ). I pull into the drive-thru, and there’s a car in front of me ordering. I notice that the passenger door is open. I look down, and see the passenger keeled over on the curb next to the car. She was facing me. And puking her guts out. Normally, I would feel bad. Heck, under normal circumstances, I would’ve gotten out and asked if she was okay. Maybe even called 911. But seriously lady, you decided to pull into the McDonald’s drive-thru, while everyone’s on their lunch break, to do that? I mean, they have a bathroom inside, only 20 feet away. And a trash can outside, that’s even closer!
Well, the driver of the car gets out and goes over to her friend to see if she’s okay. She looks at me on the way and mouths “I’m sorry.” I’m not sure if she apologized for holding up traffic, or for ruining my appetite (even though I was only going for a soda). At this point, I contemplated backing up and trying my luck at Arby’s instead, but when I turned around, I noticed a long line behind me. That’s when I heard the lady taking the order go “uh… ma’am… does that complete your order?… ma’am?… are you still there?” So the lady runs back to the order microphone thingy to reply, then runs back to her friend. Now I’m starting to look at my watch. I had to be at work in 5 minutes (it was right around the corner, but still).
Finally both ladies get back in the car and proceed to pull forward, and I get on with the rest of my day. But seriously…
… who the hell orders McDonald’s for a person who’s puking? o_O

EWW! That’s so gross. I would so not be able to eat after seeing that.. But really, at least go to the bathroom or garbage can.
Uhhhh, of course the first (okay maybe 2nd or 3rd?) time I comment on your site, I can’t read the blog. What you’re talking about freaking me out and I happened to see the last word. Just reading the first few words though, sounds gross! Lol.
If I haven’t mentioned already, I love the unique coding of this layout. The colors and fonts I’m not crazy over, but this layout features SO many things you don’t see other sites using. You always surprise me Christine !!
I rolled around the idea of living in dorms. I almost did, until I visited my friend’s dorm at my school and was like o.O $7,000/year for this hole in the wall ? AND I have to share bathrooms with people who put their hair on the wall ? No thanks (:
Butttt the idea of freedom was certainly tempting. Oh well. I’d rather save money than be free to get myself into trouble or procrastinate even more on schoolwork ;P
Do you get bored of your school’s campuses or something ? Lol. Why do you change campuses every year ?
Thank you for being the 2nd person to read my tweets !! ..me being the 1st. You’re much too sweet !! loll
Speaking of which, did you see my tweet about loving your answer to my question about cows ? AHAHAHAA (: I’m still ambivalent about whether or not I should buy MooPoint.org for a photo blog. Ahhhhh.
I know I commented on this blog. Where did my comment go ? );
I’m sorry you had to witness that. Vomiting is gross, and watching someone else vomit can be just as gross!
But to answer your question, I can think of two answers, both based on personal experience, as to why someone would go ahead and order food for a friend that is vomiting:
1. The friend is pregnant, and the vomiting is a result of morning sickness. Morning sickness, which tends to happen any time of the day for a lot of pregnant women, is just the compelling urge to vomit, and has nothing to do with being sick or eating bad food.
2. The friend had weight loss surgery, and is vomiting because she ate too much earlier, ate the wrong thing, drank too much liquid too soon after eating, or had air trapped in her small stomach pouch, which caused the vomiting. Hey, it’s a stretch, but I’ve been there, done that! I haven’t vomited in a drive-thru, however, but I have had to throw up, either here at home or out in a public restroom, and then go ahead and try my luck with eating again, since getting nutrition in is so important! (Although McDonald’s isn’t exactly what I would call nutritious! lol)
Oh my god, that’s so disgusting! I’m sorry you had to witness that. Poor lady who was vomiting, though! One time, I went to burger king for a whopper… And I vomited 12 times in one day after eating that one whopper. I was CERTAIN it was the whopper that had gotten me sick.
That didn’t really have anything to do with vomiting in a drive-thru, but whatever… ha! What’s your job at the elementary school?
P.S: Have a great weekend, Christine!
