You’re never too old to learn.
Today I had my first piano lesson! Yes, I’m almost 22 and just now learning how to play the piano! You’re probably wondering where the heck my parents were when I was younger, and why they didn’t get me lessons then. Well, they tried, and I put up a fight. Back then, I had the attitude that I knew how to do everything, and that lessons were for the dumb-butts who just didn’t get it. I’ve since corrected my ways, lol!
The lesson went so well! I’m a little more advanced than the other students, because I have had lots of musical training throughout my years in choir. So I already know which keys are which, how to read music, and quite a bit of music theory. The main thing I need help with is the bass clef– I’ve never played the piano with my left hand before :-/ But I hope to gain enough experience to be able to compose my own songs someday! I want to be the piano version of Taylor Swift, lol!
Tomorrow I have an appointment with the eye doctor. I’m excited, and nervous at the same time. Excited, because I’ll finally be able to see again, but nervous because I haven’t been to the eye doctor in about 2 years, and haven’t worn my glasses or contacts in about two years. I used to wear contacts, but stopped when my last pair ran out, because I couldn’t afford to renew them. And I only wear my glasses at home because I feel self-conscious in them (besides the fact that they’re scratched and that I’ve had them since I was 10, and that the left ear piece is broken). But I have a dilemma… tomorrow, do I get glasses or contacts? I’m so used to wearing contacts, and like that they don’t cover my face like glasses. However, they are expensive, and I’d have to renew them every six months. On the other hand, there are so many cute glasses frames out now, besides the fact that they’re kind of “in” right now. Also, they’d be much more cost effective because I wouldn’t have to get a new pair every six months or anything. So idk… help?!?
I started my diet today. It wasn’t uber successful. But… I ate an apple. It was an epic moment, because usually the only way I consume fruit is if it’s in the form of juice/smoothie, a pie, or yogurt. But I actually ate an apple straight today, skin and all. Although, I think I swallowed a seed o_O Tomorrow, I tackle oranges. Yep… it’s ON!
In other news, my fucking ex boyfriend must have gotten a hold of this site and read “that blog,”— you know, the one where I trashed his name a couple of blogs ago? Yeah… well, now he’s harassing my friends. He texted one of my friends today, asking about me. She didn’t respond to him. It’s one thing to harass me. He wants to harass me? Fine, I can take him. He wants to harass my friend and/or family? Well, that’s just crossing a thin ugly line with me. No one messes with my friends or family. He’s such a loser, I mean seriously. Can’t he just GET OVER IT and MOVE ON?!? He controlled my 2009, but I refuse… REFUSE… to let him control my 2010. Like I said in “that blog”… he may have muscles, but I have class. He has no idea what I am capable of. He wants to keep up this charade? Fine, I know exactly what I need to do. My friend is now in the process of blocking his number. I hope she can, I’d hate for her to have to change her number because of this. So yes, my struggle isn’t over, apparently. What a douchelord (thank you, Khloe Kardashian, for my new favorite word).

Also, piano! <3 I've taken lessons since I was 5. I quit about 2 years ago. But I'm starting to write on my own, it's an amazing experience. I'm sure you'll love it.

I really like oldies music. :) When I was younger I also used to think it was pretty lame. But now I love the Beatles and any other oldies bands.
My mum loves Elvis. My mum and I aren’t awfully close. My dad loves the Beatles whereas my mum hates them. :P
I’m not awfully similar to my mum but we have a common interest in some things. :)
I used to also hate country music! I don’t really like many of Taylor Swift’s music but I like singers like Leann Rimes. It’s funny how we change over time!
Congratulations on having your very first piano lesson! My parents naturally got me to start when I was about nine years old. I progressed but I was never amazing at playing piano, and when I was about 17 quit. School got too much for me.
Lately my mum thinks I wasted all that money, now she thinks I can’t play anymore. But after a year of not playing and feeling guilty and upset that I couldn’t play anymore, recently, I made an effort to play again. I was so surprised how much I remembered by heart.
The good thing about music is that it ties together. You’re lucky you had background knowledge from choir. When I picked up guitar, I learned most of it with my piano knowledge.
I hope all is alright with the eye doctor. A lot of my family wear glasses. They don’t really like (or trust…) contact lenses. The choice is up to you. Some people look great with glasses, and some people look better without them. I’m sure that if you go for the glasses you’ll be able to find a cute pair to suit you!
LOL, I’m hoping that apple seed does you no harm! I remember the stories about a watermelon growing out of your head if you ate a watermelon seed. D:
Your ex should grow up and get over it! Ugh. It reminds me of this time late last year, when this ex-friend of mine (some guy who happened to have feelings for me when I didn’t return them) discovered my blogs and my friend noticed that he was saying shit about me on Facebook in his updates. Saddddd. I don’t have a Facebook so my friend was keeping an eye on what he was saying using her Facebook. XD

Wow, it’s cool you’re taking the time to learn the piano. It’s a great thing to do in your spare time, I’ve self-learned myself, and I can play a few songs. Make-up a few songs of my own, and I love it. :)

I wish you good luck with the eye exam/ with your eye doctor. I would think glasses are better, unless you break things easily. But you said you had glasses since you were ten, which still work. XD
So yeah glasses I find would be a better thing to invest in. :)
I’m sorry to hear your Ex is still bothering you, it’s terrible. I hope he gets out of your life, you deserve a good year along with your friends and family.

I don’t know how to play the piano, but I love playing it. I don’t know what it is about them, but they’re so fun to bang around on. :) I also really love the sliding thing you have going on with the layout.
The self-consciousness that comes with wearing glasses is very superficial. You think that people will look at you differently, and they will if that is your basis of thought. However, if you don’t predispose yourself to that thought, nothing changes.
In the past I wouldn’t alternate between glasses and contacts, but now I do it freely. Because, regardless, I carry myself the same way – and that is the only true marker of how others perceive you.
So, don’t let a meager change in appearance change your self. Either glasses or contacts is quite fine. Even though we can make a big deal out of it, sometimes! XD (Also, I agree, besides there being cute frames, glasses just tend to look better on ladies lol).

Aw, I want to take piano lessons soon… and guitar… and dance! Hey, I’m young, I CAN DO IT ALL haha. Good luck with your lessons though :). I took a few lessons for piano when I was younger but I did not stick with it… now I hardly remember a thing :(.
Haha @ douchelord. Definitely my first time hearing such a word. That sucks that he’s harassing your friend. I hope she is able to block him. Idk why guys find it hard to just leave people alone when they don’t want to be bothered…
I’d recommend going w/ the glasses. Not because they’re “in” (that shouldn’t be a determining factor) but because they’ll save you money. There are so many styles of glasses so I’m sure you’ll find a nice pair that’ll compliment you and suit your style :).
Congrats on taking up piano! That’s such a good thing for you to do. I was just like you Christine. I had lessons, hated it, and quit. I regret so much that I quit the piano. Stick with it this time and play beauttifullll music ♥
You’ve never played with your left hand ? Hm. What did you play then ? It was difficult for me to get used to using both hands because my instructor focused on the right hand for such a long time.

Go with glasses. Nobody looks bad in glasses anymore. They made all of them look “cool” now, so you have nothing to worry about, lol. Take pictures of the frames ! They make suchhhh cuuuute frames now !
Mmm I love fresh fruit ! Except I’m allergic to like all of them. My boyfriend will eat an entire apple ..like, seeds and core and all. Gross. I’m proud of you though! You’re tackling this officially! I want to lose weight but I’m not putting myself on a program or anything =/
